Visual Storytelling!

Capulet Finds Juliet Dead (Act IV, scene 5) by John Opie

Imagine that you have created some sort of visual IMAGE to represent a MOMENT in the action/plot of one of the pieces of literature we have studied this year. Describe your image and how it communicates this moment. Describe why you make the choices you do in creation of this image. (Please be sure to focus on a MOMENT, not on the story as a whole!)

Your image can take any form. It could be a painting or drawing, a collage or sculpture or could be something created digitally using software like photoshop. Try to imagine something that you could reasonably execute. (In other words, creating a billboard might not qualify, since it would be too hard to actually get done. Yes, we are going to try to follow through on these projects! Don't worry. We will take several weeks on this and use some class time if necessary.)

As a reminder, here are some of the stories and plays you may wish to choose your MOMENT from.

"The Signalman" by Charles Dickens
"How It Happened" by Arthur Conan Doyle
"There Will Come Soft Rain" by Ray Bradbury
"Meteor" by John Wyndham
"On Her Knees" by Tim Winton
"Secrets" by Bernard MacLaverty
"The Taste of Watermelon" by Bordon Deal
"The Lemon Orchard" by Alex La Guma
"The Third and Final Continent" by Jhumpa Lahiri
"The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

  1. Visual Storytelling – The Taste of Watermelon

In the story of ‘The Taste of Watermelon’ I have thought of the moment when the guys in this story roll the huge watermelon away from its garden.

In this visual image I see it as two or three guys rolling away the huge watermelon, a watermelon which is bigger than any watermelon a person has ever seen in his life (the same as it is mentioned in the story). This watermelon looks mouth watering and just ready to eat. The guys are wearing farm clothes, as in some kind of shorts together with a white t-shirt and some shoes. I imagine the owner of this watermelon seeing the guys rolling away this huge watermelon and getting ready to go outside and run after these guys.

I believe it communicates well with the moment as it continues some story however also describes the behavior of teenagers or in other words, teenage guys. I find this image very interesting as you can never for sure know what this story can continue as or if this story is going to end good or bad. It stays as a mystery until the story could continue.

  2. Romeo and Juliet

I chose a moment in Romeo and Juliet. It is where Tybalt has just thrust the sword under Romeo's arm and stabbed Mercutio.

Tybalt thrusts his sword at Romeo, Mercutio standing behind him. Right under Romeo’s arm, the blade slices through Mercutio’s heart. The bloody tip of Tybalt’s sword appears out of Mercutio’s back. Romeo, Tybalt and especially Mercutio are shocked. Mercutio becomes pale and starts laughing. Rage comes over Romeo; he stares at Tybalt and gets ready to fight to the death.

My image will have Romeo, Mercutio and Tybalt, all looking shocked. The sword will be under Romeo’s arm and will have pierced Mercutio’s heart with the bloody tip out of his back. Mercutio will start to look pale. People around will all be shocked.

  3. Visual Storytelling

    I have two ideas.

First Idea: The moment I’ve chosen for this case would be the scene where Tybalt stabs Mercutio under Romeo’s arm, from ROMEO AND JULIET. I think it would be interesting to focus on just that moment in time, because that image itself would tell a story alone. It would be easiest to draw it, to focus on that moment.. But it would also be interesting to create a video of the scene itself, with effects and such, and then the video would end with that one still picture of Mercutio being stabbed. So I’d either a) draw a still picture of Mercutio being stabbed by Tybalt, or b) create a video that builds up the suspense to the point where it does happen, and then finish it with a still picture of the moment. It would leave the viewers wondering what happens next, even if they already know the original story of Romeo and Juliet.

Idea Two: This idea would be a picture of the car zooming down that steep hill, looking as if it wouldn’t be able to make the sharp turn (which it couldn’t), from the story HOW IT HAPPENED. I find that drawing it would be more fun as well as better. Perhaps at the top of the page I could add some of the characters thoughts as they roll down the hill towards their death. Words such as ‘We’re not going to make it’ or actual quotes from the story would be written faintly on the top of the page, as if blending in with the sky, while the car is situated at an angle where it’ll look as if all hope is lost. I’ll also probably make the slope look darker and grimmer than actually described in the book, to make the hill look more scary or spooky. This story also lets the viewer think about possible endings to the story described in the one picture.

I’ll most likely do Idea Two because it would take less time and it could be much more interesting (to draw) than Idea One. Idea two would probably most likely give more of a feel of what’s happening in the story, but I could perhaps do that with idea two with how I make the scene look with effects…
Where the video would be more interesting, I think that Idea Two would be more descriptive as to what was actually happening in the story. In the end.. I’d probably do both, if possible >_< But I’d start out with the second idea, as it would take less time.

  4. The Signalman
I am doing my visual image on a particular part where the Signalman is having a conversation with the narrator about his job and then tells him how he thought he was someone else, he then goes on to tell the narrator what he saw when he looked at the red warning light and then the ghost appearing telling him all manners of weird and unusual things that didn’t make sense to the Signalman at first.

My image will look like the Signalman is looking out towards the tunnel entrance and sees the red warning light, and then the ghost fading into the picture, the picture will have the rocky walls of a cave like dungeon as that’s how I feel that the story was depicted through Charles Dickens’s descriptions. I will be making the Signalman kind of scruffy looking as he has been down in the darkness with only a small crevice of moonlight. The ghost however is going to look like it’s just coming into the picture so it makes it looks like he has just saw the ghost under the red glow from the warning light. I make all these choices because I write/draw what I picture the story to be and this is my version of how the Signalman, Ghost, Setting looks like but even if my vision is different to what Charles had in mind it is still the same story and following the same rules.

I think this image will go well with the moment because it gives and understanding of how the Signalman reacted, and how the ghost came into the story. It also gives a sense of fear/horror/spooky whichever you like, because of the way that I have depicted the setting to be like a rocky dungeon rather than a large ditch with train tracks running through it.

  5. Metoer by John Wyndham

The picture or image I am going to write about takes place in the story of “Meteor”. I am going to write about the appereance of the scenary that surrounds the aliens when they arrive on the planet. I want to write about how I thought they looked like.

The story is basically about aliens who are forced to leave their planet and blindly just enter space and landed on Earth.
The picture that I can see the moment they arrive on the planet of earth is little aliens
panicking and anxious about what lies ahead.

The brave soldiers go out to explore shortly after they arrive and I can just picture a group of like 10 – 15 little aliens green with helmets and leather like armour going out into the unknown. I can imagine them saying goodbyes to their loved ones and their loved ones like their little children would call out for them as the door to the outside opened closely and everyone just waited to see what was outside.

All the aliens would have crowded around the door in my picture they would all be standing in a semi circle around the soldiers just to see what was outside. There would be all sorts or ages. All green with 2 eyes and two holes as noses and large mouths that look like they would be smiling all the time but still from their eyes one could see the fear that they would be feeling when that door to the external opened.

The soldiers would be brave and not afraid of what lies ahead as they would be the strongest and the chosen ones to explore their new home.

Still one or two I can imagine would be a little frightened but they wouldn’t show it but they would just stand their infront of the door watching it open and letting the light slowly hit their faces and keep strong.

In my picture the weaker ones on the crowd would chicken out and move back and hide behind the front row. They would be scared and the mothers would clamp their children tight.

The last part of my image is the very first step of one of the soldiers. The bravest of all and he would lead his troup. He would have a different helmet showing that he is the leader and then followed by his soldiers.
That is the moment I chose to write about the moment the aliens first see the new sorld they arrived on. It starts when they land and finishes when the first alien decides to make a step into the unknown.

  7. Visual Storytelling

I will be using a scene from the meteor. It is close to beginning when the meteor crashes to the ground and everyone realises it and is looking at it outside the window.

Everyone in my image will be looking outside because they heard the metor crash. Another detail I will put in first is everything shaking in the house. And maybe even something falling over or falling off the table or something along those lines. I will also put a lot of dust outside (floating over the ground as a big cloud), and behind it you can faintly see the shiny meteor. The weather will be nice and the sky will be blue as it is not described in the story. I will also draw a dog and a cat standing a few meters away from the meteor. It will be sunny and you will be able to see some rays of sunlight coming through the dust and the window into the house.

I will make the window a very big window so you can see what is hapenning uotside very clearly, and I will pay the most attention to the meteor and the dust and what is happening outside. I will also put a lot of detail to what is happening inside but not as much, for example I will put the table that the characters are sitting on the the side of the picture so that the person who is looking at the picture will not look at them only but will look mostly at the big window and what is happening outside.

The minor details in the picture will be, for example, a glass falling over on the table, or a vase falling over from a side table or something along those lines. I will do this to make sure the people who are looking at the picture will see this and know for sure that the house is shaking from the force of the meteor. I also want to show that it was very loud when the meteor hit the ground and to do this I will make one of the character covering his/her ears (probably her).

To actually draw the picture, the way I will be drawing it is as a drawing (pencils, coloured pencils) and for some details such as shininess I mught use metal or plastic or something. I will use drawing paper, and since I will only be using one of them I will try to get a really good one. I will alos need to buy some coloured pencils and I can take some aluminium foil from my house but that is not a problem at all. I will also need some spray to spray over the picture when I am done so it cannot be smudged (although I don’t remember the name of the solution that is used, I can find some).

  8. The Taste of Watermelon

I am going to be using the scene from ‘The Taste of Watermelon’ when the narrator and his friends try stealing the watermelon seed that belonged to Mr. Wills.

My drawing will be from the front perspective of the narrator. The narrator will be crawling on his stomach, remaining hidden all the time while going in for the extremely large watermelon. His two friends were on the lookout, hiding beneath some trees and grass. Whilst watching every move the narrator made, they were ready to make a break for it as soon as the narrator was caught. Just on the right on the picture, Mr. Wills is looking out his window in a very lit room, with a shotgun in his hands, ready to strike as soon as he saw movement towards the melon.

A brief description of the scenery is that it was frightening as well as exhilarating for the narrator and his two friends. The narrator was building up in caution and could not bear to take a slight look at Mr. Wills aiming down the sight of his shotgun. Not knowing whether the shotgun shells were real or simply made out of salt, to impress Mr. Wills’s daughter and his friends, he crouched slowly beneath the damp grass, heading towards the Watermelon seed with much concentration in his eyes, trying to remain hidden throughout the entire escape.

The atmosphere will be dark and slightly damp. The watermelon would be on its own in the center of the field, guarded by Mr. Wills. The full moon would be set up in the sky, just over the roof of Mr. Wills’ house. The house would look like an old cabin of two floors, lit up from the windows and its curtains with a lamp. The house would be visible from the side of it facing the watermelon. A small, dirt-pathway would be leading from house door to the watermelon.

Minor details can be things such as an owl sitting on top of the tree that the narrator’s friends were hiding under. I would also use a sign that is saying ‘private property’ or ‘keep out’, made poorly out of planks of wood with some iron nails.

The way I plan to make this picture is probably by sketching it and either using color pencils, or paint. I will use bolder and dimmer colors rather than light colors that really stand out.

  9. The Lemon Orchard

I am going to take the moment when all the men are leading the man in pyjamas in the darkness. They are walking on a thin dark path with lemon trees surrounding them. The moon is hihg up in the sky lighting up their faces exposing each mans characteristic. The men who kidnapped him are all wearing dark, thick clothes, hats and shoes, while the victim stands out with his striped, blue and white pyjamas. He is also going barefoot and has a panicked look on his face. One of the men is holding a lantern while the others are holding guns. The leader is holding the biggest gun and it is pointed at the man in pyjamas.

This image is supposed to represent the main scene of the story. The dramatic scenery inspired me to describe their image, as the full moon and dark trees give a sense of drama to what was happening. The guns show the terror and seriousness of the situation the poor man is in. The themes of this image i would say is terror, panic, darkness, death, and misery. As the story's theme, it is supposed to show what South Africa has suffered with the huge segregation going on in the country at the time of educated, native, dark-colored men. It is to show how much violence racism can create to just innocent, non-harmful people.

When i draw the picture i will try and capture all of the men's feeling of this moment. For most of the thickly-dressed men in the background of the image i will give them very serious faces, perhaps a few of them looking at the man in pyjamas with a look of disgust. The leader will look straight forward through the picture with an evil smile on his face. The man with the lantern standing next to him is looking at the leader with a serious face giving the impression that he is kind of like his assistant always obeying his every demand. The man in the pyjamas will have the look that the whole country was experiencing at the time; terror, panic and deep misery.

  11. Moon Hanger
I am taking a moment from "The Taste of Watermelon". This story is about coming of age and right now I can really relate with that. The main characters and the narrator wanted to prove themselves by stealing the prized watermelon. My favorite is when the three boys are sitting on a bridge and looking over the moon lithe lake, talking about stealing the watermelon.
I would display this moment by presenting the boys with their backs visible. Two of the boys are sitting down and the narrator is standing up looking inspired. In the image you will be able to see a large moon and the lightened lake. The boys which are sitting down will have short spiky hair and the boys standing up will have dark shaggy hair. The two boys sitting down are looking up at the narrator. The narrator will cast a shadow on the bridge and the boy's shadow will be cast on the lake. The shadows will give the image more depth.
The mediums I will be using are soft pencil and watercolor to give the image softness. To further emphasize the softness the image will have rounded edges and the sides of the image will fade the further you get from the main image.
I'll call the image "Moon Hanger" because the moon will be a focal part of the image and "hanger" because of the inspiration hanging in the air.

  12. Picture where in “The Taste of a Watermelon” three boys are eating a huge watermelon.
It is a dark colour of the sky, with bright stars and full moon shining. At the background you can see some trees, green leaves, red apples hanging, brown stems. The water which is running in front of the boys is calm, dark, reflects the moon. The watermelon is green and black stripped, it is not cut, but very messy all over the place. The flesh of it is bright red, with dark black seeds. Three boys sit around the watermelon, one is fit, blonde, handsome, he is sitting with his legs crossed. The other two are brunette, one is slimmer than the other one, all are eating watermelon and all are very dirty. All of them are wearing shorts which are dirty because they are sitting on the ground, and different coloured shirts, yellow, red and white, and all of their faces are in watermelon juice. Their shirts are messy too, they all have short hair and they seem to be full of the watermelon, but happy.
I decided to choose exactly this moment of the scene because i think that it is very strong, athe whole story is just about this moment where boys are finally eating this watermelon. For me it is a key scene in the story, i also decided to choose it because the watermelon is very nice, and that would be nice to picture it, like to show how huge it is.

  13. The story I am choosing is ‘The Taste of Watermelon’ and the scene ive chosen is when the boy goes through the field and gets the watermelon. The imagine i get in my head of this scene is, the moon, big and bright up in the sky and the young boy being covered in mud from head to toe as he has been crawling through the dirt, one of his hands is reaching towards the watermelon and one finger is gently placed on it while his hair is in his face. He has a worried look on his face because he is looking upwards towards Mr.Wills who we can see through the window in the distance. He has a long shot gun in his hand and is sitting on a rocking chair looking out with a sort of smirk but serious look on his face mummbling away to himself. So the young boy is very scared looking towards mr.Wills but he is still determined to get that watermelon. The boy then pull’s the root of the watermelon and it budges and he keeps tugging at it while he looks very struggled, then the watermelon comes loose and the boy lays down onto his back, and rolls it down his body and is now smiling. Mr.Will’s closes his eye’s for a moment to rest, as he is sure nobody would steal the melon on such a clear day. The boy feels a sort of adrenaline rush because of what he has accomplished while he is taking through the field to show his friends, and once he reaches the end of the field and his friends are in eye sight, he takes a deep breath and goes ‘ I Told You I Could Do It’ with a smug look on his face.

  14. I have chosen to visualize the moment in ‘There Will Come Soft Rains’ where Ray Bradbury describes the radioactive glow of the ruined city below and the scorched outer wall with the outlines of the people who lived in the house. I chose this moment because it verifies the reader’s fear that something is wrong. It also shows the split second between the American Dream lives of the house’s occupants and their instantaneous deaths. I think the image shows a spectacular change and destruction.

The one image tells a story by itself; the family going about their daily lives, captured in the wall, in Allendale before the sudden nuclear explosion destroying life. However I will try to portray the artificial life still present in the intelligent house and the life of the irradiated dog walking outside. I will also try to show the silent desolation and the survival of nature through an image that tells us many different stories.

  15. METEOR

I chose an image from the story Meteor by John Wyndham. It represents the moment of the cat's attack.
After the aliens landed on the earth, they left their spaceship and met a cat. They got into a fight and a lot of them died. In the end, the leader of the alien group kills the cat, but he dies as well.

I chose this scene because it is very interesting and exciting. It has a lot of action in it. It would be an image in the middle of the fight. The aliens and cat would be in a jumping, running or attacking position. A lot of movement would be in the picture.
I don't exactly know, how the aliens look like, so i would have to invent them a bit. The story says that they look like little ants. And the cat is black and compared to the aliens, huge.
The picture would be like this: an agressive, black, huge cat in the back. It will be on its feet and showing its teeth. The antlike-aliensm would be all around the cat, some of them dead. Thez will be attacking and they will have some weapons (fire-rods)in their 'hands'. So that you can see the ants good enough, i will have to draw them big enough. So the cat will be very, very huge in the picture.

I really like that scene. It is really funny, how a cat - a cute 'little' pet for us - can be so dangerous for other creatures. In the story, the cat is being described as 'cold, cruel and non-inteligent'. I will draw the cat with an evil look in its face.
This scene is also very interesting, because it shows that even though the aliens are so small, they are still really dangerous because of their good technology and knowledge.
I really liked this moment in the story! (even though the poor cat dies)

  16. Visual Storytelling - "Secrets"

I will describe part of the story, the image that I see from “Secrets” by Bernard MacLaverty.

I see Narrator the boy next to the big wooden shall look for the stamps. However instead of stumps he found some letters which were addressed to his aunt Mary from John Aug’15 Ballintoye. They were written with black spidery ink. You could see that letters are old because they were yellowish on the sides and you could find several holes on the paper. Reading letters was probably hard because some letters were invisible or were blending into the paper. Boy was reading letters on the floor on the big fluffy carpet which was size of the room floor. Letters were around the boy and they smelled like old books from the library. Windows were wide open in the room and you could feel fresh wind which was blowing into the white see-through curtains. On the book shell where boy found bureau with letters you could see an old quill with dark blue ink on it and unfinished letter to person whom boy didn’t know. Between letters narrator could see a photograph of the soldier in green uniform and on the back was written with the same black spidery ink “Brother Benignus”. On the picture that I imagine boy is young with orange spiky hair in baggy cloth and in old sneakers with drawings on them.

I chose this scene because it’s mysterious part of the story “Secrets”. Also I just like this story.

  17. Visual Storytelling

I chose Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. When Romeo finds Juliet "dead in the church" and his reactions and feelings when he sees her.

Romeo had heard that she was sick and that she had died suddenly, but he did not belive it until he saw it. When he had heard he bought some poison, just incase. When he arrives by her side and sees her lying there dead, He decided to kill himself near her. Just as he drinks the poison, she wakes up and finds the bottle in his hand and then she decides to commit suiside.
I can imagine my image being of him taking the poison and lying down, and of her waking up and looking down on him, and his face being confused but happy. Also both of them holding hands and her touching his face.

this image gave me the idea of just love. It shows that even though Romeo was dying and he was upset, by seeing his Juliet for the last time before he died, it made him happy, and also worth it. This means true love to me, and i think Both of them shared the same feeling.

  18. Short Story : How it Happened. By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

My picture would be from the moment in “How it Happened” when the neighbors discover the car crash and the narrator is lying dead and the car is smashed up. Then the man’s ghost would be standing nearby looking scared and shocked watching all these people crowd around his body. In the Background you would see his old buddy sitting on a nearby wall looking empathetic. The man’s body would be lying next to the car, blood all over his shirt and face. He is quite obviously dead.
In the picture I would attempt to show empathy, shock, concern, fear, and quite obviously death. The ghost of the narrator’s friend and the crowd around the accident would show shock about the death of the narrator. The butler would show fear and concern and shock for the death of his boss , and probably for fear ofd what would happen to him now that he was unemployed. The narrator would also show fear about what was going to happen now that he was dead and shock for the fact that he had died. He would also be concerned for himself, his friends, and his family.
I chose this moment in the story because I thought it was an interesting scene and I can do a lot with it. Within this one instant there is so much going on. The passers by, the ghosts, the butlers and all the people within this moment are all feeling different emotions and doing different things which would be interesting to play around with.

  20. The Signalman: Visual storytelling

I have chosen the scene in The Signalman when a woman falls out of a train.

In the scene the woman is going to look scared and will be leaning out of the carriage. The train’s steam will be coming out or the train and will be around her. She will be near the front of the train. The train tracks will be wooden. The train will be very close to the jagged hills.

Above the train, the will be bricks circling the tunnel and there will be grass at the top of the tunnel. Trees will be hanging from both sides of the hills but won’t be too close to the tracks. On the other side of the train, the Signalman’s hut will be shown. The sky will be very cloudy and will have a bleak look. The ground will be muddy and have green grass surrounding it.

Opposite the woman will be the Signalman and a couple of witnesses. They will look shocked.

The scene will have a sad, depressing look about it from the atmosphere that surrounds it.

  21. In the scene between Willy and Howard Arthur Miller uses a lot of dialogue an actions between the two characters to give information about them and give the story another key point to build upon.
Miller creates a discussion between Willy and Howard by making Willy try to change the job that he does. The initial dialogue demonstrates Willy’s passive side as he constantly tries to speak to Howard and is interrupted time and time again. In the end it is only when Howard says ‘Say, aren’t you supposed to be in Boston?’ that the discussion really begins. First miller gives us a taste of the characters and builds a situation between them.
When the discussion gets under way, Miller uses the line “You didn’t crack up again did you?” to give us the insight that Willy has had problems before with his mental stability and ability to sell. This is key because later on in the story Willy starts to flash back and do weird things that have basis after what Howard says.
Soon we get more information about Willy’s, and the firm’s, pas. “But I was with this firm when your father used to carry you in here in his arms.” Shows how long Willy has been working there. It also shows he might have been working too long.
Stage directions give the reader and idea of tension and anger building up that allows willy to start losing his temper

  22. The choice that i have made for a visualisation is the moment in ‘How it Happened’ where the car is flying through the air through the estate gates, about to crash into one of the pillars on the mansion. I have decided on this moment as it shows the climax of the story, and what happens after all of the hardships that occur upto the point of thecrash. The car is a few feet above the ground, and it travelling at some speed, and it is speeding through the open gates of the estate, and headed straight for a large pillar on the front of the large building in the centre of the estate. The only light is moonlight, and candle light infront of the mansion. The faces of the main character and the butler would be of excitement, but also fear.

The image would show great excitement, and reveal how the story ends, with the horrible car crash, where the main character dies, and the butler is hurt. I chose this image as it seemed to be full of movement, and be a very exciting image. It also would give a good understanding of the main character; liking action and adventure, but sometimes takes things a little too lightly.

  23. Toby Cook.

Image : Pulling out the watermellon in taste of the watermellon.

my image will have a bright green and white watermellon on it. half inside the ground with lots of thick roots holding it into the ground tightly. the boy will be there, with red cheeks showing that hes using all his stregnth and devotion to try pull out the watermellon. the ground would be rich brown color, and had a look, like it was freshly ploughed. the sky would be dark (as it would be night) but there would be a full moon and it was very bright. the watermellon was bigger than the boy...

i choose this image because i liked, and enjoyed reading the taste of the watermellon, i think it would made an active, and good image as it shows the boys expresions and the landscape around of him.

  24. There will come Soft Rains

The moment I have chosen is from “There will come soft rains” when the nuclear bomb explodes and leaves the silhouettes of the people enjoying themselves behind.

The moment is about even though it is in the past what was there still remains . It is like it have left an imprint of its existence so anyone passing by that sees it knows what was there before. Little pieces of the past is always left behind.

The impact it has is quite saddening because the people in the Silhouettes look like they were having so much fun, then something terrible happened and all that’s left is their silhouettes.

The silhouettes are of a man mowing the lawn, a lady picking flowers and a girl and a boy playing with a ball. The background/wall is a dark grey with white silhouettes it should leave a sad impression on the viewer.

  26. The Yellow Wallpaper – Visual Storytelling

I am describing the picture at the end of the yellow wallpaper where the woman is tearing down the yellow wallpaper whilst John and Jennie are amazed at what they are seeing.

There is a lot of detail in it. It shows a very mad, crazy haired woman with a mad facial expression. Broken nails and ripping down a wallpaper/ John and Jennie look surprised and afraid as they had thought there had cured her and now they realize they did exactly the opposite and made her even more mad. Also this moment clearly shows a mad wife that is badly dressed, dirty and ragged whilst tearing down the yellow wallpaper that she thinks is keeping her inside of the wallpaper. She thought it was a woman just creeping around everywhere but in the end she thought it was her inside the wallpaper and is trying to free herself. John is on the floor because he had fainted from the shock and Jennie is on top of him trying to wake him up and looking with a scared expression on her face at the woman she had been trying to help heal all this time.

To conclude the picture I have imagined, I can say it is a stressed and frightening moment where a mad woman dressed in tattered clothing, tearing down a wallpaper with her hands whilst her husband lies on the floor as he has fainted from shock and Jennie, his sister is on top of him looking with a very scared face at the woman.

  27. Romeo and Juliet

The moment i chose was the moment from Romeo and Juliet. When the Capulets were having their party and Romeo and his friends went to crash the party. The moment when Romeo and Juliet set eyes on each other, really created a lot of emotion and feeling to me.

In that moment, i could tell that Juliet was bored at the beginning or just enjoying herself slightly, from her expression and also her movement. Romeo on the other hand was just playing around and dancing and looking at all the people, but also making sure that the capulet's did not recgonise him. Then when he set eyes on Juliet, he completly changed his expression, and everything slowed down and you could get the feeling that everyone and everything blured out into the background, and that you could only see Romeo and Juliet looking at each other.
When Romeo started looking at her, he completly forgot where he was and what he was doing. He took his mask off for a better look and didn't realise that the Capulet's were watching, especially Tybalt. It was as if he couldnt care less, but he just wanted to stare at her.
I also got the feeling that when they started looking at each other, that they knew that they were the ones. A sence of warmness and also a heart melting feeling came over them. The way that they stared into each others eyes, it was almost fake because not a lot of people do that nowerday's, so because of that i could tell there was a strong connection between them and also a long lasting love.
