Exam Revision Homework 1 - Morality
Here's an interesting video where Arthur Miller suggests that his own plays and the plays of Shakespeare are deeply concerned with morality. Can you come up with THREE ways that Death of a Salesman is concerned with morality and THREE ways that Romeo and Juliet is concerned with morality?
Submit your answers here. This can take the form of a simple list.
By the way...EVERY MEMBER of our TWO CLASSES did a GREAT job with our Death of a Salesman scene. That's really impressive. Let's see if we can do this well again with our Romeo and Juliet scene!

Death of the Salesmen
ReplyDelete1. When the brothers decide to work and support their family.
2. When one of the sons removes the rubber pipe from the cellar so his dad won't kill himself.
3. when one of the sons decides not to tell his mother about his father cheating on her to sve her the missery.
Romeo and Juliet.
1. Romeo does not tell anyone that he is inlove with Juliet so that Juliet does not get in troubel with her family.
2. Juliet still decides to love Romeo even though he killed her cousine.
3. The nurse keeps quiet about their love so that they can continue to love each other.

2.) Juliet carries on loving Romeo after he kills Tybalt.
3.) Both Friar Lawrence and the Nurse keep the relationship a secret.

ReplyDelete1. When Biff ruins the deal by stealing the boss's pen (meaning not to steal).
2. When Biff runs off after seeing his father cheating on his mom with another woman, never telling his mom about it.
3. Directly after Willy is fired and how he asks 'Ben' what he did wrong, why he was fired.
Romeo and Juliet
1. The 2 families think how wrong it is for Romeo and Juliet to be together.
2. The priest thinking how right it is to marry them as the 2 families will forgive each other knowing it.
3. As well with the priest thinking it is a good idea to 'fake'- posion juliet and that she will wake up after.

3. Willy is fired and has no clue why, so he asks Ben.
