Christina was born on the 8th of March 1995, she is fourteen years old. She is From Russia but she was born in Holland. She has lived in Holland, Belgium, Russia and Malta. There are four people in her family; her mum, dad, her and her older brother (who is twenty-eight years old.
Christina’s shoe size is 37 and her favourite song at the moment is ‘Final Countdown’. She chose Drama over Art because she thought she would learn a lot more things that she didn’t know and also she likes the subject.
Her favourite season of the year is summer because she can get a suntan. The most interesting and most favourite place she has visited is Nice (France) because she likes the streets and everything about the place.
The most tragic event that has happened to Christina in the past year was her boyfriend leaving to go to University but he is going to come and visit her. If she had to be a tree Christina would be an orange tree or a lemon tree because she likes citrus fruits.
Her goal is to finish high school go to university and get a good job. She came to Malta because she had asthma and her doctor recommended a warm place so she moved to Malta. She used to do ballet and her hobbies are playing tennis, dancing and swimming.

Interview on Kalean
ReplyDeleteKalean is a 14 year old boy who lives in Malta. He's lived in Malta all his life and is half English. He has no brothers or sisters. He doesn't mind his parents but he prefers his father because he plays video games and his mother, “Only tells him to do Homework.” He likes his school; Verdala International. He doesn't mind the students and likes most of the teachers. He also said that he thought the campus was 'OK'.
I asked him a few hypothetical questions. When I asked him whether Ryan should get his hair cut, he said, “Yes, It's way too long”. He himself has rather short hair. I also asked him: “If you were running out your house and it was on fire, and you could pick up three things, no matter the size, what would they be?”
He told me he would pick up his money, as he has lots of it and it would help in life. He said he would pick up his guitar, as it costed a lot of money and means a lot to him. He would also pick up his computer tower, as it costed lots of money and he has all of his games and some important information on it.
His hobbies are to play video games, and play guitar. When I asked him why he likes to play guitar he said, “I want to keep my talent up, I don't want to forget how to play.” He also said, “My guitar is like a part of me”.
I also asked him, “What was one of the stupidest things you have ever done?” Just to get an idea of what he is like, and what he would do. He gave me a few different things he has done, but I picked out one. “I was hiking with friends, and they dared me to jump off of a 10 meter cliff. I had no idea how deep the water was. I dived in, and the water was 3m deep. I had a massive gash on my leg.”
Andrew Graham
ReplyDeleteFourteen year-old Andrew Graham is a British boy who lives and studies in Malta. Andrew has brown hair, brown eyes and is quite tall for his age. When meeting Andrew for the first time, he can appear somewhat shy, but once you get to know him you find out that he is an intelligent and humorous guy. He has one sister who is currently in 8th Grade, and a half sister. Before he moved to Malta, he lived in England.
Andrew (or Andy as he likes to be called) enjoys learning about new things, or old things when it comes to World War II. He is fascinated by history and war, especially more recent history, and often uses this to succeed in history Class. He is not the kind of student or person that won’t do something just because he doesn’t find it interesting, or finds it difficult. To the contrary, Andy enjoys challenges.
Outside of School, Andrew is more relaxed, sometimes lazy, and loves to play guitar and listen to Rock Music. In Fact, if he could be any rock star he would be Kirk Hammet from Metallica. He currently owns four guitars, but he is also your computer-savvy teenage gamer and loves to compete against others when playing games. As well as guitar and gaming, Andrew loves Aeroplanes. He can remember names and specifications of may aircraft, modern and old.
Andy is a friendly person, but because of his somewhat anti-sociability, not everyone finds him so friendly. His interests and knowledge make him a good student and an avid collector. He Is a reliable friend and I am glad to know him personally.

Essay
ReplyDeleteIn this English literature lesson, we got to know the new teacher, Mr. Maclachlan. Then, he taught us why this exercise is important for later, seems to be that there are different ways to answer questions, for example; there can be yes/no answers, also answers such as facts, and long detailed answers, to be honest never even thought that this would matter so much. And apparently it does make a big difference and makes the answer seem more interesting, and not only that but it also does make the answer seem more descriptive and interesting to read or listen to. After getting to know him we moved straight to working in pairs. My partner was Evita we had asked each other questions that might have seem interesting to us and made us get to know each other more closely.
I had asked Evita not more than 8 questions. I first started asking her about her life. For example, where she came from. After that, my questions had turned into (as they call it) ‘favorite questions’ where I asked her most of her favorite things. After speaking about her favorite questions, my questions turned into more detailed questions as in, where she was studying before. The answers Evita had given me for her favorite things, where way shorter than what she gave me for her more detailed questions. I guess I had to ask her in more detail about her favorite things, so I’d get a longer answer and which would also give me more enthusiasm.
My first question to Evita was: Where were you born? To that I got an answer such as, ‘In Malta. I don’t know where ta’. After that I had asked her: Do you have any brothers or sisters? -‘Yes, I have one brother and one sister’. After that question I moved to ‘favorite questions’ which were some like: What is your favorite sport? -‘I play basketball’. Who is your idol? – I don’t have one. What is your favorite car? ‘It’s the Lamborghini’. Then I turned a little bit into ‘more detailed questions’ which were more like: Who do you want to become in future? ‘An engineer, but I might as well change my mind over time. You never know.’ What was the best food you had ever tried and where was this? ‘In Korea, it was very nice! This was in Seoul, which is most, probably the capital of Korea.’ And my last one was: What school did you go to before and in which country was this in? Her response to this question was ‘it was called the British School of Paris, and it was in Paris’.
I had really enjoyed interviewing Evita in this exercise and am really looking forward to more interviews like this. I guess, I could’ve added more detailed questions but I thought that this was more than enough, to also stay out of people’s lives. I certainly did learn something from this lesson and am looking forward to the rest of the year!

Anne-mieke
ReplyDeleteAnne-mieke comes from Holland and decided to move to Malta during the summer, her parents wanted to move somewhere warmer and Malta was one of the choices. Like all other people Anne-mieke didn’t want to move because of friends, already used to a school, etc… and when she came to Verdala she was frightened and nervous as she knew no one, it was an English speaking school, and she couldn’t understand a word, over the time she has been at Verdala she has made friends, she understands English enough to get by and she likes the people at Verdala.
Anne-mieke has an older brother, he is 16 and Anne-mieke is 14, Anne-mieke’s Brother has left school and now works in their Typical Danish Shop. Anne-mieke’s Brother wants to work as a chef but when he applied for a school here they were too late and is now waiting for another year to apply. When Anne-mieke was in Holland she spent her Summer Holidays wisely, not just slouching around on the couch being lazy like me, no she actually when out and visited her family, looked after her cousins, went shopping with friends, and spent time in her shop.
Now since she has been back at school Anne-mieke normally gets home watches some TV, does some HW, has Dinner, does more HW and spends time with her family. When Anne-mieke is older she said she wanted to be an actress, she said it all started with her mother reading her books witch she then later on wanted to act out the books that were read to her hence her liking to drama.
Anne-mieke is living with her Parents and Brother, as no other family members moved with them to Holland. Anne-mieke would like to stay in Malta for about 2 years or more as she likes the weather, and the scenery but alas she does not like the Maltese inhabitants that much as she finds them rude and I don’t blame her I think that as well.

ReplyDeletePolina Kravtsova Andreevna is a 14-year old girl from Moscow, Russia. Her birthday is the 22nd of June and she was born the year 1995. She has many hobbies including tennis, horse riding, painting, and mountain climbing. She especially likes riding and painting. Horse riding because t is very extreme and she loves it when the horse gallops really fast. She loves painting because it is her way of expressing her feelings. Polina has 1 sibling. His name is Simion and he is only 2 years younger than Polina.
Polina doesn't have a specific favorite color, but in fact likes all colors. This shows that she is a nice, optomistic person who loves color. Her favorite music genres are R'n'B and sometiems rock (though not hard metal rock). She loves cherry ice cream and is a fan of all Russian food. That is one of the most things she misses of her home country. She really loves her country, Russia. She loves all the seasons of Russia, the nature, trees and rivers (one of the things that malta has missing). She also misses the language and the fat that everyone understand her there. She tells me that Russia feels like home.
(i asked polina some hypothetical/random questions so don't be surprised if questions are quite unusual) If there was any country in the world POlina would like to live in other than Russia or Malta it would be Australia. Partly because she saw the movie "Australia" and thought that the scenery was pretty amazing. Polina has many different nicknames in school but one she is very famous from is Fairy Princess (which I am proud to say i came up with). Her friends chose it because her long, blonde, beautiful looks very 'faryish' to them and her face has this foreign, Russian , beauty of a lovely fairy princess. This sounds pretty weird but if you look at her you would probably agree with us :) Anyway, Polinas clothes style is very unique and she has her own style. Usually a style that expresses her mood for each day. And last of all, POlina does not want to be buried anywhere but wants to live forever!

ReplyDeleteHer full name is Valentina Spiteri, she is thirteen years old. She doesn’t has any children because she is a child herself. Her biggest hobby is fashion, but she also enjoys watching television, writing and reading. Valentina does not have any pets, she lives in Lija, Malta, in a house. She does not drive a car, her favourite animal is a giraffe, her favourite ice-cream flavour is vanilla(which is alliteration of her first name). She speaks fluent English, Maltese, and studies French. Her favourite drink is water, and fizzy orange juice. Her favourite season is autumn. She is Sagittarius by her horoscope, and favourite colour is purple, and when I looked up some information about Sagittarius it said that their colour is rich purple, which matches with that valentine likes. Her favourite fruit is yellow plum, favourite flowers are orchids. She prefers plain nail colour, her favourite tree is Japanese blossom tree, an the interesting gthing is that it is a cherry tree, and I told her that my favourite is cherry tree but she didn’t react to that. Her favourite perfume is Chanel, chance pink. She likes simple black coffee, her favourite song is the one played by her father’s band called “room 7” by Scream Daisy. Her favourite subject is art, her eye colour is green. She sees herself as a fashion editor in some famous fashion magazine such as vogue in about twenty years.
Her birthday is on the twelfth December 1995, she she loves milk chocolate.
Sid Vicious
ReplyDeleteSid Vicious was born on the 20th September 1995, which makes him thirteen years old, Sid has a mum, dad and one brother and one sister. His mother is named danila and she 47 years old, and his dad Eugene is 54. His sister Ellpza is sixteen years old and is a student, and Sid’s brother Eugene is 32 years old and works as a business man. He also has a male dog called Yoric.
Sid and his family were originally from Bulgaria, but have been living in Malta for two weeks now and his opinion on Malta is that he likes it. Sid’s hobbies are listening to music preferably The Sex Pistols, eating and drinking and watching movies and T.V.
Sid’s favourite number is the number 3, if he could be any animal he would be a snake, because he likes snakes and he thinks they’re vicious and kill other animals. If Sid only had one more day to live he would spend it listening to The Sex Pistols and getting drunk.
Sid has visited many countries such as Greece, Macedonia and of course Malta. His favourite country is England this is because all the good music comes from there. Sid’s favourite food is KFC

First Love
ReplyDeleteFirst Love was written by John Claire it’s about a man who falls in love probably his first love with a girl that steals his heart away and he has never saw such sweet face. The poem was set in the day where there was snow and loads of flower, trees and bushes.
In the first stanza, he sees the girl and instantly falls in love with her. He comments on how “Her face bloomed like a sweet flower” and that she stole his heart and made it complete. It shows that he is in love as he faced turned pale a deadly pale and that his legs refused to walk away. When he saw her everything that mattered to him and that he worried about just seemed to turn to clay because she was all he could think about. The second stanza is quite similar to the first stanza, it describes that his blood rushed to his face and took his eyesight quite away and to him it seemed like midnight when actually it was mid-day, and he couldn’t see a single thing. “Words from my eyes did start” this shows that he didn’t say anything but his eyes were talking. “Blood burnt around my heart” this means that he couldn’t stop thinking about her that his heart was aching. Finally in the third stanza it shows that it’s snowing from the quotation “Is love’s bed always snow” this shows that there was snow everywhere as it acts like a bed. “She seemed to hear my silent voice” this shows that he was probably talking to himself or that she knew that he was in love with her. He starts to refer to her so sweet face and says that his heart left its dwelling place and cannot return no more.
John Claire is implying that she is really pretty “Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower” this gives out the impression that she is kind, sweet and loving just from this quotation. The author hints that he has never seen a girl like her before “My face turned pale a deadly pale, my legs refused to walk” this shows that he couldn’t walk away from her and at the moment he fell in love with her. In the first stanza the author is implying that she meant everything to him everything he cared about and that was important to him didn’t matter anymore when he saw her “ My life and all seemed to turn to clay”.
In the second stanza the author gives out the impression that she has pure beauty and she takes his eyesight away and makes noon look like midnight “Seemed midnight at noonday”.
The poem’s rhythm and structure is set in ababcdcdefefgg which is related to shake sphere as most of his poems were like that and they were called the Shakespearean sonnet. In the first stanza there is alliteration “With love so sudden and so sweet” this shows that he fell in love straight away and he thought it was sweet. The mood changes throughout the poem in the first stanza it quite happy and romantic, when it gets to the third poem the mood starts to change to sad but sort of romantic. The first stanza contains repetition when he turns “pale a deadly pale” this shows that he didn’t just turn pale it look like he was as pale as the dead. The atmosphere of the poem is romantic and sad. In the second stanza there is alliteration “blood burnt round my heart” this shows that he can’t stop thinking about her and that his heart is aching for her.
First Love sort of links to the poem First Love by Stanley Kunitz. Both of the poems include nature like in First Love by John Claire the quotation “Her face bloomed like a sweet flower” and a quotation from First Love written by Stanley Kunitz “Mixed with flowers, in her blood” this shows that they are both sweet like flowers. It also links with the weather John Claire’s poem “Are flowers winters choice” and Stanley Kunitz “The ice of twenty winters broke,”
I think First Love by John Claire is romantic but also sad it shows and describes a lot of feelings in the poem I think it would be successful and it describes what a first love would be like.

ReplyDeleteSara was born in Sweden. She lived near the capital, Stockholm for 12 years. She moved to Malta 2 years ago. Sara has long blonde hair and is fairly tall. She is 14 years old. Sara is also half American her mother is from New York. She visits the States almost every year.
Sara has many interests, she likes a variety of music ranging from The Beatles to Jazz and musical soundtrack. She enjoys swimming, dancing, travelling. Sara has been to many places such as China, Egypt, Holland and the Dominican Republic. Sara is also interested in the environment and global warming. She hopes to one day make a difference. She also likes TV programs and films, her favourite programs are: The Simpsons, South Park, Friends, Heroes, Greys Anatomy and her favourite film is Across The Universe.

ReplyDeleteRosie is a student of Verdala International School in Malta. She is in grade 9A and is 14 years old. She was born in England but now she lives in St. Julian’s which is on Malta. Her Birthday is the 16th December.
She has got many pets at home. There are her four cats that she loves very much and then her turtle and a chicken. She’s also got a horse and many fish. She has got two sisters. They are called Emily and Annabella. Her boyfriend is called Chris.
Rosie is a really pretty girl with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. She has got the shoe size 39. Her favourite brand is Playboy and her favourite colour is pink. Her favourite clothe colour is hot pink. She loves Chinese food and house music. Her favourite body features are her eyes. Her best holidays were in Isle of White. That’s in England.
She describes herself as unique. If she was allowed to have a tattoo, she would like to have it behind her ear. The pop star she would love to marry is Robert Pattinson. Rosie looks a little bit like Hannah Montana. She is especially feared of spiders. Before she moved to Malta, she lived in England. She likes England more than Malta. If her house burned down, the most important thing she would like to save is her laptop. Twenty years from now she sees herself back in England with two or three children. She would love to get famous.

ReplyDeleteHis full name is Max Micallef Attard, he was born on july 8th 1996, which makes him 13 years old. he lives in Rabbat in Malta and his favourite hobbies are basketball, computer, chatting with people, and sports in general. He likes rock, classical rock,and pop music.
The scariest thing he has ever done is walk down a pitch black street with his hands over his eyes, and he thinks it is deadly scary. The stupid thing he has ever done is to hang from a monkey bar 3 meters off the fall, and then to fall off and go to hospital, hurting his back and head and bottom.
He likes Malta because everything is close so everything is accessible quickly, and he can meet friends easily.
His favourite subject at school is P.E. because as i said before, he likes sports in general. His second favourite subject is Drama because he finds it fun doing monologues etc. Also he really prefers it from Art and he likes it as a subject.
