New Ted Hughes Poem about Sylvia Plath!

A new poem by Ted Hughes has surfaced. We know Hughes from his poem "Full Moon and Little Freida". Take a look at this television report on the discovery.

I heard about this poem on this podcast where it is discussed at length. (It's the second discussion, after one about Dan Savage and before one about Bruce Springsteen, both of which are also interesting.)

For those interested, there is an interesting film about Hughes and Plath's marriage named Sylvia that can be viewed on youtube.

Exam Practice Question 2

Nice job on Practice Question 1 where you wrote an empathy essay as Howard from Death of a Salesman!

Today, we will post our practice essays here in order that everyone can benefit in revision from one another's work.

___________

Use ALL your time during this 40 minute period to answer the following question.

Imagine that you are Benvolio from Romeo and Juliet and that you have just come from hearing the Prince banish Romeo. What are your thoughts? Write out these thoughts as a full-length essay in sentences and paragraphs that can be understood. Remember that with "empathy" questions of this sort, you should feel free to interpret, but should be careful not to invent.
